Hi Hanlie & Michael,
I’m delighted to share your final Living Room design and product suggestions! I wanted to give you a fun and vibrant living space with that ‘wow factor’ you’re after. I hope you LOVE it!
To accompany your room design, I've included some additional advice and styling tips below.
Product suggestions
When you view the design, you’ll see that I’ve included a number of alternatives for each category, just click 'alternatives' to reveal these. You can then click the arrows to move the different products in and out of your shopping list, as you do this the overall price at the bottom will update accordingly.
Sofas
I have included 2- and 3-seater options for sofas. My favourite option is the Reuben sofa and the sizes are just perfect for your room! The fabric I have selected is a smart velvet in ‘Paprika’ and is finished with a special coating meaning they have a fabulous durable and resistant quality about them that prevents spillages from sinking into the fibres too quickly. Let me know if you would like a fabric sample sent to you. These sofas take around 8-10 weeks since they are custom made. Sofa.com also have a great returns policy should you not be happy with your sofa choice for whatever reason.
Rug
It may seem a little unconventional to layer a rug on top of carpeting, but it’s such a great way to add colour to your room and to ‘frame’ the seating space. It also feels great underfoot! My favourite option is the Brushed Palette Rug, but again, feel free to select your favourite option from the alternatives. Let me know if you need help selecting different cushions if you do decide on a different rug option.
Accent Chair
The space next to your fireplace is perfect for an accent chair and will provide you with extra seating when you’re entertaining guests. I like the golden tone of the Evelyn chair and it doesn’t compete with the orange sofas. It also stands out nicely against the blue accent wall! If you decide on a yellow sofa option, I would suggest you select one of the blue accent chair options.
Cushions
Cushions are a great way to add texture and pattern to a room and I love the West Elm cushion cover range. I have illustrated on your visuals how you can arrange the cushions, but feel free to select any of the alternative options – they will all work with your design! Please note that you would need to add the cushion inserts (found under alternatives) for each of the cushion covers you select. The sizes can be found in the description of each of the cushion covers.
Coffee Table
You loved the copper coffee table from the inspirational picture I shared, so I just had to find something similar. The copper feels very warm and ties in nicely with the paprika coloured sofas. There is no hard and fast rule for mixing metals, so you will see I have also included brass and black accents (to compliment the kitchen and dining space).
Wall Art
You have some great wall art already, but I wanted to show you some alternative options that could also work. I really like grouping art together to create a gallery wall effect. I have added links to the art work I have suggested and these can be ordered directly from the supplier.
Sideboard
Extra storage is always a good thing - especially if it looks as great as the Mendel sideboard! I like the warmth of the acacia wood and it really stands out against the blue accent wall. Pair this with a great table lamp, mirror and accessories as illustrated on the visuals.
Wall Paint
You can order some sticker samples from the Lick website. I have just used Lick;s paint myself and it's really good to work with!
I would suggest painting the accent wall (fireplace wall) in Blue 06 and the rest of the walls and kitchen in Grey 05.
You will also find options for kitchen door knobs and blinds. I like the two layer effect of the roller blinds and could work great for your other rooms as well.
Once you’ve had the time to digest the design and my notes, please let me know if you have any questions.
Warm wishes,
Nardus
